Depends on what version of windows you are using...if it is XP, then I would go
with Apache, since IIS on XP is crippled to limit it to a few connections. If
you are on Vista business premium or Vista Ultimate...or if you are on any of
the windows server versions (2000 or 2003)...then you don’t have those
limitations and IIS would be the easiest to set up.

IIS is a webserver...BTW as is Apache. CF also comes with a built in web
server, but I find it a bit difficult to set up...someone here may be able to
help you. Otherwise, CF come with just about everything you need. The only
other component you need is a database. If you are just using it for testing,
then Access would be fine, but I would not recommend using that in a production
environment.

One thing you can do is set up XP...with IIS and CF on your desktop...a lot of
people use that as a local development environment. The downside is that you
are limited in the number of connections you can have to your machine, but if
that is not a problem, then that would be your best route.

thanks, me neither but they want a cheap test phase. Do you have any
recommendations for a temporary windows web server. It sounds like IIS is a web
server tool but not a webserver, am i right on this?
