Pete,

This sounds like a file permissions issue. CF admin still uses a java
file browser to view the file system. If it cannot gain access to the
file system, you get this error. There is also a setting in the Admin
to allow this feature or not (I don't remember where or what it is
called), which if turned off, you will also get this error. More than
likely Vista has locked down the permissions on the folder though.

However, this has no affect on the use of the datasourse. All you need
to do is copy the path from Windows Explorer and paste it into the
path field in the datasource setup. The connection should work just
fine.
