definitely study up on structures, arrays, and all the other advanced data
structures and programming concepts covered in Allaire's advanced class.
Other important topics are cookies, session/application/client vars, cfhttp,
custom tags, lists, date/list/struct/array functions, basic SQL, etc.
Basically everything you would expect to get exposure to over the course of
developing for 1 or 2 years.

What does your insert statement look like and what is the data type of the
field that you are inserting into? I just inserted values into my database
with both "" and '', with no problems.
