That's the closest I could find to corroborate what the Macromedia rep
told me when I asked about using the developer edition on dev and
staging servers.  In short, the answer was 'no'.

If you (and by 'you' i mean anybody still following along) are truly
interested in whether or not this is a license violation, and the link
I provided doesn't state it clearly enough, I'd suggest contacting
Adobe directly.
