Even if you compile the connector yourself? There's always the proxy bit too, which bypasses the JRun connector. I've got an example of using the AJP mod_proxy stuff with jboss- it, or plain old proxy-ing, would get the OP running apache 2.2 and CF 6.1. Course, if it's about mimicking the production environ... heh. Anyways, as for getting apache going again, check the Apache logs! They will tell you what it's choking on, etc..
