To answer one of your questions that wasn't directly addressed: yes, you can
browse the Mac's file structure on your PC, as long as permissions on the
Mac allow it. You should be able to see it under My Network Places. I
haven't tried mapping a Mac's drive on a PC, but it should be possible.
