I think you are out of luck here.  According to the SQL Server 2000 docs at
   http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa260318(SQL.80).aspx

   "REMARKS - SQL Server does not return a value for this column."

Ditto for SQL Server 2005

It's peculiar that this is a column which is returned by the Catalog Stored
Procedure sp_tables.
The docs are right though - it is always NULL, even when you use sp_tables.
