Fair enough.

a) From web app, err msg for accessing a ms sql server 2000 -based db:
[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port:
localhost:1433. Reason: Permission denied: connect

b) From cf8 admin, datasource setup for an Access db:
Connection verification failed for data source: donFname
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver]Internal network
error, connection closed.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC
Driver]Internal network error, connection closed.

c) From cf8 admin, datasource setup for a ms sql server 2000-based db:
Connection verification failed for data source: la89
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing
socket to host and port: 127.0.0.1:1433. Reason: Permission denied: connect
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC
Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: 127.0.0.1:1433. Reason:
Permission denied: connect

Is likely that these db drivers have either been reset or un-registered when
the ms 'engineer' messed around with my PC yesterday?

Thanks.
