it depends on your host.  some offer control panels to set up
coldfusion DSNs.  others require that you request the hosting company
to set up the DSN.

i'd check with them and ask about how to set up a mySQL DSN to work
with ColdFusion.

also... and this might seem obvious, but worth mentioning... your host
does support coldfusion, yes? :)
