Cheers Mike. We've got our wires crossed a bit. I(and Rey) were asking about
CRMs, not CMSs.

I would nearly always want to do my own for the reasons you've given. But
the man sat behind me wants one now and I don't have time :OD

Cheers.

I built my own, Adrian. You get a better result that way, I think.
I think you should consider doing that too. I think it makes good
business sense, and good sense from a technical point of view as well.

You get precisely the feature list you want, dont get features you
wont use, and you know a LOT more about the inner workings of your
CMS at the end of it.

It took me a few weeks of thinking about the structure, feature set i
wanted and the architecture, but when i started cutting code, I had
the first working completed site running in 2 weeks. And it took that
long because it was summer and I kept taking time off to go to the
beach.

Since then, I have built lots of sites with that CMS, and i am about
to complete a new version using the lessons learned from the first
time around, and the wish list of the users.

I reckon that project has paid for itsself time and time again - i am
reusing the code, i can add to it easily because i know everything
there is to know about its inner workings, and i am constantly
enhancing the original concept as i get new ideas. I also think i'm
a better project manager and developer as a result of doing it - it's
more complex than the vast majority of projects i'd undertaken before
that.

I strongly suggest you consider doing your own.

Or failing that, why not consider the AFPWebworks CMS?

Cheers
