This is really putting the cart before the horse. If the page is effectively unusable, who cares how well it's ranked? In any case, you can't predict what exactly will happen. The page might be less relevant overall for a given search, but the new, smaller pages might become more relevant for other searches. Google ranking and relevance is based on the actual data you're providing; it's not really the black art some (SEO "specialists" mostly) make it out to be. If you provide relevant data, your pages will be considered relevant. If you really want to stick with the one big page, generate the HTML and cache it.
