Opinions vary greatly (I love them, other hate them) but you can get a very nice dedicated box (no VPS) for that price at CrystalTech. I pay $89 for their entry-level box which happily supports my sites. You get a large allotment of a shared SQL Server or you can, of course, install your own copy.
