There used to be a way to encrypt an application from the command line.
I think it still can be done in CF7, but not sure about CF8.

Subject: Possible Spam - Application encryption

Hi,

Does anybody of any site/blog or documentation, how to encrypt an
application. I tried one from esayCFM but it did not help me. Please
provide any direction. We want to give our client the application but
not the code.

-Thanks.
