Yep, that fixed both my problems.  I had totally forgotten to upgrade my 
local install of CF8.
I'm kind of surprised a show stopper like that made it out of Beta...

Now I seem to have some strange JavaScript errors happening only when I add 
?cfdebug to the URL to get the AJAX Logger.
As soon as the page loads, I get an "invalid character" error for EVERY line 
of code.  The errors just start piling up as soon as it loads, until I 
uncheck the "window" checkbox.
I Googled it to no avail.  Anyone seen that, or do I have gremlins?

The error doesn't happen when I comment out the cfgrid and started as soon 
as I upgraded to CF 8.0.1
