net search failed to have the question answered. the reason is that certain
key feature is only supported by IE (6/7/8), in the meantime, a substantial
number of users use Firefox, the simplest way of detecting user browser and
tell Firefox users that this app requires IE is not good enough. I understand
Firefox has an IE Tab add-on, a question is, a) could one detect if a
particular FF has such add-on installed, probably yes, how? b) then could we
use this feature (IE Tab) to launch the IE with a URL? Then, what if it does
not have IE Tab add-on installed?
Another simpler/viable option?

Something like <a href="C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
http://myurl.com";>launch an IE session</a>
?

Thanks.
