I don't know if this is an option for you but I thought I would throw it out there for consideration.
I had some comment spam on my blog for some world of warcraft gold sites (whatever TF *that* is). I had a captcha on it but they were getting around that. So I added a snippet of code that would sniff out the names of these sites and if I got a positive I would Rick Roll their dumb asses. The comment spam came to an abrupt halt after that.
