I have a customer who would like a search function for his web-site but does not want to use Google's custom search service. They use shared hosting (CrystalTech) that does not offer Verity or Solr (I believe this is true but am confirming with them).
Given those constraints, does anyone here know of an alternative? I understand the complexity of the problem so I'm not 100% surprised I've found nothing with a little Googling around.
