Well, this sounds like it's not your idea, but rather your client's
idea. So, you might be best served by asking your client what they're
trying to accomplish by doing this. Other than pure "because I can"
vanity, I've never seen any compelling justification for doing this.
It will make upgrades slightly more difficult for obvious reasons. It
doesn't hide any information from any but the most unsophisticated
viewer - it's very easy to "fingerprint" application servers
generally. It doesn't provide any actual functionality.
