Yes, it is definitely related to those questions. I originally left IIS6 Compatibility installed. But when I attempted to add a new site today I received the error mentioned in the docs there, and the config tool would not add the site. So I attempted to uninstall all of the sites and then uninstall IIS Compatibility components. I then received the error message that I mentioned previously.
