True. I should have chosen my words more carefully. I guess I've always kind of lumped database full-text searching into the same category as indexes. So to better word my question: I wonder if a well planned db/query/cache structure (ie. indexes, full text searching, making use of evidence operators etc) would see significantly slower performance than search collections.
