No, you can - it's just easier to set them up when you're logged in to make
sure that the path works. Then if it doesn't work in CF then it's a
permissions problem. I do it this way to make my life a bit easier...

Well, you still need to configure the file in ODBC as that is the only way
for cf to use the access db. I think there are tags floating around that
allow you to create ODBC datasources on the fly.
