It is possible to setup a datasource on your local CF server to a remote database so
long as you somehow have access to it. For example, if the remote server is a SQL
server, then you simply enter in the connection string into the datasource options &
there you go - it'll work (with some performance degradation) as though it was on the
same box.
Let's say that a remote server has an Access database on it. Well, in this case, you
would have to have a UNC path to the remote drive and then you could setup the remote
MDB file as a local datasource.
I'm certain that there's a way to exchange data with XML or WDDX but I'll leave those
tutorials up to the experts in those areas. I'd be curious to know how one would
connect to a remote MDB file without a UNC connection.
