That's just it.  The administrator merely lists possible causes:

"There was an error running your scheduled task. Reasons for which scheduled 
tasks might fail include:

The scheduled task is paused  (Nope)
The URL is a redirection URL (The URL does not redirect)
The URL is protected by ISS NT Challenge/Response or Apache .htaccess password. 
...
The Domain Name lookup failed...  (Nope)
The URL is an SSL site, but the SSL port was specified incorrectly.  (Nope, not 
SSL)
The Web site is not responding.  (Nope. The same URL runs in a browser)
The directory specified for published results does not exist.  (Nope: publish 
option not used)

The scheduler logs say absolutely nothing about an error.  I thought maybe it 
was a permissions issue.  But, the templates scheduled are owned by the user 
that CF runs under.
