I don't think there's any newer fix for this. There's no reason to be
worried about manually updating the .xml file, though - it's just like
any of the other configuration files CF uses except it doesn't come
with a GUI to update it.

Alternatively, you could save the chart to a file immediately, then
serve that file instead of the temporary file generated by the chart
itself. One of the comments in the post suggested that, and it sounds
acceptable to me.
