You cannot use the 127 ip. That is only for the localhost (your laptop). You have to you a 192 ip.
Access your router admin screen. It will tell you what base ip is: ie: 192.168.0.x, 192.168.1.x... will vary depending on your router. I think d-link uses 192.168.0.x while Linksys uses 192.168.1.x Setup a forward in your router to redirect a port call to your webserver. ie: assuming Linksys and your laptop is @ip160 and the webserver is port 80: use: http://192.168.1.160:80 from the ipad. This is the way my systems are setup. -----Original Message----- From: Andrew Grosset [mailto:rushg...@yahoo.com] Sent: Sunday, May 20, 2012 1:47 PM To: cf-talk Subject: Access laptop from iPad I have Railo, mysql etc running on my laptop which I access using the url: http://127.0.0.1:8888 (using a home wireless network) I would like to be able to access the same url on my iPad or iPhone using my home wireless network, just wondering how you recommend setting this up?
