Well I think if you say you want to stake the developers to the ant hill, then that is kind of bold, and I'm going to defend my coworkers. ;) Seriously - I'd consider trying it again. As for being able to select an install location, I'll give you that, but honestly, I can't remember the last time I didn't want an app in /Applications. A server - sure. But an app? Most folks don't need/care to move it.
