It's not recent bad news that caused this. It's been a long slow decline that Adobe has failed to address with any marketing or rebranding initiatives. The perception of the technology, the limitations and costs of available hosts, the limited number of developers, and the facts that no IT departments (that I know of) teach ColdFusion as part of their curriculum is the issue. Adobe could has long since addressed all of these issues.
