I need to set up an OLE DB connection for a Sybase database. I look through
the documentation and it tells me that the provider is "ASAProv". It also
tells me that if I don't have that one, I can use Microsoft's "MSDASQL",
which gets the job done at the expense of some functionality. When I go to
the OLE DB portion of the CF Administrator, all I have as options are
"SQLOLEDB" (which I assume is SQL Server), "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51", and
"Other". The first 2 don't do me any good, so I choose "Other". Then it
asks for a Provider, and a Provider DSN. I'm gussing it wants to make a
DSN - OLEDB bridge, so I put the suggested "MSDASQL" for the Provider, and
the DSN to my Sybase database in the ProviderDSN. This doesn't work. I
can't verify the connection.

Those are my only options.

I have checked and rechecked. I have the ASAProv dll on the machine and
have even reregistered it to make sure everything is good to go. I can't
get it to show up in the CF Administrator no matter what I do.

I'm running NT 4.0 sp6, CF 4.5 sp2, MDAC 2.6, Sybase ASA 7.0.1

Anyone have any ideas?
