If your data is in a database, and you're storing UTC or GMT timestamps
there, why do you need to worry about the timezone of the system?

> Please forgive the somewhat off topic post. I'm looking for some
resources about how to manage time zone differences across a distributed
server application. I was under the impression that the "best" way to do
this is to set all the servers to the same time zone, ideally GMT or UTC.
This is unrelated to what the final user of the application sees in terms of
time -- I'm only concerned about internal system processes at this point.
In our case, the Web/CF server is on EST, the DB server is on CST, one
partner with whom we exchange data is on MST, and another is on PST.
