Reduce file size when sending content back to the client.  When
generating HTML, CF leaves whitespace when it is processing - increasing
download times (not to mention affecting your overall bandwidth).
CFSilent suppresses output of whatever's nested in it.  Wrap it around
big loops (but not output).

I looked up the tag in Livedocs, but I don't get it.

cfsilent  - description - Suppresses all output that is produced by the
CFML within the tag's scope.
