As has been pointed out, you can get a 32-bit command window, which simulates a DOS
prompt.

Strangely enough the MS-DOS command.com still exists in Win2k. Just go to Start/Run
and type 'command' instead of 'cmd'. You'll get the old 16-bit DOS version. Its
doubtful you'll need this. CMD.exe is much nicer to work with and should be fully
compatible, but if something just has to see a bona fide DOS command processor (to
maybe set up a larger environment or do something similarly ancient) its there.

Cheers,

I am playing with the Java tutorial and it is showing how to compile the
source code. Here is my realy stupid question.

It says From the Start menu, select the MS-DOS Prompt application (Windows
95/98) or Command Prompt application (Windows NT).

How do I open MS-DOS in Windows 2000?????

Thanks,
Rich
