Subject: locking within CFSCRIPT

Hi all,
I have a situation where I would like to write a UDF to perform
the same task as a custom tag does at the moment, problem is I need to be
able to perform locking operations in the UDF. Are there functions, say
lock() and unlock() that can do the same function as <CFLOCK></CFLOCK>
within a CFSCRIPT block ?
