define "support". most stuff works, some doesn't: basically cfgrid, cftree,
cfcache, any sort of string manipulation don't work on unicode so i guess
that includes double-byte charsets too.

more or less no, though you need to consider development in terms of 
the double-byte "support" cf5  has. also consider that all your throughput
has now doubled in size. if this is just *one* locale then its relatively
straightforward, if you do it i18n standard then it gets tricky.

studio4.5 handled unicode ok, provided something else creates
the utf-8 format. studio5 has a known bug with unicode format
files.
