I would work with them to come up with a list of 10-20 specific usability guidelines and work with that. Example: "All hyperlinks will be underlined , and no text that is not a hyperlink will be underlined."
If this is bigger budget, you might actually go through somewhat formal usability testing. Just beware that "success rates" in tests can often seem low, depending what sort of task you are measuring. >>> "Mary Fowler" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 01/28/02 02:29PM >>> Has anyone had to come up with contract language that helps nail down the elusive term 'user friendly' in a fixed priced contract? It is a point being negotiated at this time with a client. The quote has to be fixed cost. The quote has to be done fast. The client uses the term a lot in thier deliverable specifications. We are saying we would like to take the term out because it is too vague. They are asking us what the 'industry standard' wording for 'user friendly' is. I say we need more design specifications. Sound familiar? Any thoughts and/or examples of language would be greatly appreciated. TIA, :)mary ______________________________________________________________________ Why Share?
