Sorry, I should have clarified moreso.
A lot of the time, I don't have control over the content entry. I get
content from a database and have to maintain the look of the output...
e.g
the blocky characters that an MS Word quote causes in a web browser.
Can
ColdFusion catch these non-standard characters and replace them?

Do you mean you are pasting into CF Studio?
I'd say don't use Word, but if you are not the one creating the
content,
you should be happy just to get it in a digital format.
Try pasting into Notepad before CF Studio.
Just a thought.
