Gosh, I disagree completely with this. For me, having my code littered with irrelevant CFLOCKs is sloppy.
I'm comfortable with requiring the server setting. It's a simple, clean, set-and-forget solution. Obviously, that's not going to work for everyone. If you can't enable Single Threaded Sessions on your server, then you'll need to do all the sloppy locking.
