I believe he meant that the minor performance tweaks being discussed here may not hold true in new (or previous) versions. Just because cfloop runs faster than cfoutput in CF 5 does not mean that is the case in CF NEO or CF 4.0 . The implementation of either could ( potentially ) change to add new features or depreciate / remove old ones.
