Sure. There are fewer requests in the queue, if there are that many threads to respond to requests. However, it's possible that each request takes significantly longer to process. Now, Bud has said that he's not seeing any performance degradation, but I don't know if he's run any tests to confirm that - he might not see it himself, but a significant percentage of users might. Or, maybe that number works well for him, or more specifically, for the mix of applications and users that his server supports. There's no reason to think that the same number will work well for your server, or for my server, because as I mentioned previously, there are simply too many variables in this equation to allow us to draw a meaningful conclusion. It's important to remember that there's a reason that Allaire went with the server architecture that they did - the process of queuing requests generally provides good performance. Allaire could have just had the server spawn a thread each time a request came in, in which case you'd have very few timeouts, but you'd get generally crappy performance.
