In which case he is absolutely right. The problem is that Flash imposes strict limitations on where files, variables, etc. can be loaded from within a Flash movie. Flash can only load external resources from the same subdomain as the movie resides in, meaning that you would not be able to redirect requests to a different server unless it was part of the same domain. This is done for security reasons.
Now... that being said, if you happen to own both of the server, why not map a virtual path to the Web pages you are looking to access? The solutions for Flash connectivity issues usually turn out to be with server configuration.
