There seems to be 3 different views on whether or not you need to reinstall win2k server after upgrading to a dual processor.
1) You MUST reinstall WIN2K when you add another CPU 2) You do not need to reinstall, you just need to adjust a setting in device manager 3) You do not need to reinstall but you must do a parallel install of the OS on the machine and copy over some files as specified or us a program called utomp.exe http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q142660 The puzzling thing is that each piece of advice was given to me by someone who said he was 100% certain and had done this many times... I'm confused. Can anyone help clarify this for. The key point is that I'm using WIN2K server and NOT WinNT 4.0 Thanks.
