I hear you all, and in fact I use cfset 99% of the time, but I did hear that there was a use of <cfparam - all this talk of speed though, unless it can be backed up then its all hear'say!? We need figures.
Unless Macromedia promote / or support a 'correct' methodology then as Ray stated before, there will always be sloppy code, but sloppy code in someone's eyes could be far more efficient (not necessarily in CF, but in other languages) and good code in anothers - its Catch 22; two sets of code which achieve the same result can be seen as a success, but they could be two radically ways of this success. :-?
