I'd just go ahead and install CF MX and see what happens. It worked fine for me. I'm not sure what problem Chris ran into. The only thing I did that I thought might prevent a problem is I created a separate IIS virtual server for CF MX, made sure that ASP.NET wasn't set up for it, installed CF MX as a standalone server, then manually configured the JRun connector using wsconfig.exe. All of this is detailed in the archive of the thread, I'm sure.
