well you said cost made you cringe.. that means it's out of my league!
:)

I thought you could subscribe to it on a per license type level and it
did not require special hardware.. I guess I was seriously mistaken.

There is nothing ever good for us small companies.

I downloaded Sitespring trial and it looked like it could help
facilitate
this pretty good from what I saw. It had all kind of bells & whistles,
problem was that it was pretty hardware intensive (least, that's what my

boss cringed about)..

didn't want them to have direct contact with the clients, you could set
up
an 'in between' area to help facilitate the questions to the project
manager who would relay it to the client. The client had their own
areas
and the project manager could setup a little forum for them as well to
continue discussions on, etc.

If you didn't care about the developer being able to talk directly to
the
client, they could if you gave them the appropriate permission in which
they could answer questions, etc.

Personally, I would have liked to have been able to use this internally,

but between the cos

t and the hardware, the company I work for just wasn't
up for it (and, they're lame and if anyone has any job openings in a
cool
company (hint hint Dave Watts!) let me know. :) )

since this is a Coldfusion group - therefore Macromedia related.. anyone
try SiteSpring?

I have been incredibly curious... but being a very small agency, I need
one that is flexible enough to handle freelancer type users as well as
client log on;s.

I am curious as to recommendations as well.

Hi Folks,
This is OT, but does anyone have any recommendations for a web-based
project
management system? We were using

one we wrote in-house, but we're
starting
to outgrow it, and I'm supposed to do some research on commercial
options.

(Doesn't have to be in CF, either.)
