As Brett says, it's interesting to note that MSXML3 - the processor used by
CF_XMLQUERY and CF_soXML - is the second fastest tested (and the fastest was
written by the report's author, who admits that it was optimised against the
tests). MSXML4, which is currently available as a 'technology preview', is
purported to be faster still - I'd be interested to hear if anyone has
measured performance between the two.
