Hello all,

I have a stupid newbie question for you all.  Ive been learning XML and can see how you would use it in news headlines and as a way to store information (like a database) but why would you want to use it instead of a database.  I know that XML can send information from database to database or to to use from application to application (i.e. using a cfml form to read an xml file and using a flash movie to read the same file) but what else can you do with it.  I am very interested in the subject.    What types of things have you all seen.  The books i have teach you all about how to write xml but none of the 3 books that I have on the subject tell me how to use the language in real world applications.  Also what types of things have you all seen that integrates XML and Coldfusion (not just WDDX but XML).

Thanks for the help.

DJ
