This month at CFUG QLD:

QLD CFUG will absolutely, positively be on this week! Promise!

Due to the delays, there’s a small line up change. Scan down through this email until you see ‘Ben Forta’!

This will be our first CFUG for 2006!

WebDU (the conference formerly known as MXDU) is the premier Asia Pacific Web Technology Conference, taking place 2-3 March 2006 (just a few weeks away) at StarCity Conference Centre, Sydney Australia. Its been described previously as a 'rock concert for geeks'. Tickets are still on sale for this event, so if you haven't got your ticket yet, or you'd like to know more about it, go to this URL:

 http://webdu.com.au/

When you do go to webDU, don't forget that there will be our usual National User Group Meeting (although like last year, it will be an ANZUG meeting!) where you will hear even more from some of the webDU speakers, get lots of giveaways, and other great things, so make sure you fly/drive/walk down to Sydney the day _before_ webDU's sessions start, so you can also take advantage of Wednesday night's 'Day Zero' activities.

With webDU just around the corner, this meeting will be about all things webDU.

We have a special preview of one of the webDU sessions.

Richard Turner-Jones will show us his ‘Building Airservices Australia – Flying Around’ presentation.

http://www.webdu.com.au/go/session/building-airservices-australia--flying-around

If you’re going to WebDU then this will free you up at the conference to see the Flash and Web Services Crash Course, or Pushing Flash Forms, Extending CFForm with ActionScript, or Flexible Eye Candy (Customising UI’s in Flex). (all three of which are on at the same time as Richard’s presentation!)

If you're not going to webDU (my sympathies go to you!) then this is your own little free trial of some webDU goodness.

‘But what about Ben Forta??!’

As a special treat, we have a very special presentation by none other that Ben Forta!!

Ben Forta will be talking about ColdFusion & Flex Connectivity.

Only two usergroups in the world have been allowed to see this presentation ahead of Ben’s upcoming US tour, and QLD CFUG is one of those lucky two!!

Don’t miss this!

We will also be doing some general talk about webDU. What’s on. What to expect. What you need to bring, etc.

There will also be some more information about the Adobe/Macromedia merger.

The meeting will also have our usual (and ever popular) general open floor Q&A discussion, so bring your questions and problems.

As usual there will be free pizza, subways and drinks.

If you haven't already, then please RSVP by noon Wednesday, 15th of February, as it helps make sure there's enough pizza and subs for everyone.

IF YOU DON'T RSVP, YOU DON'T GO IN THE PRIZE DRAW!

This month’s prize draw will include a complete MXDU 2005 conference pack, including the stylish and very rugged carry bag!

If you’ve already emailed an RSVP for a previous February meeting, please send another email for this week’s meeting.

Send that email now!!

Don't miss it.

See you there.
