No no no, what I meant was the dot com companies closed less people stuck around and less people enrolled in IT
jobs were supposedly all going to India so less people enrolled in IT
then companies realised they needed to hire back in there own country etc and there wasn't enough *highly skilled* people, so they needed to spend up big etc,
and the economy grew strong so companies of all sizes decided to employ, which has created a skills shortage (the lack of less people enrolling in IT for the above reasons)

How many CF devs do you know of that used to come on this list but stopped because they told you they were going with dotnet ?
and would they really need there to be heaps of dotnet positions if the cf positions aren't being filled?
a lot of dotnet positions would most likely mean companies advertising them aren't getting the positions filled.

Couldn't agree more, a few of us actually had this discussion at our table over dinner at WebDu, what we agreed upon was that most under 30yrs old would stay in there current job for an avg of 2 years, and those over 30yrs would stick around for 4years
Pretty much all researched stats from companies that research this data have found this to be the case as well.
now I'm sure people on this list have been in there jobs a lot longer and some may want to be there for ever etc
