Jeremy, I'll admit I don't know about the issues you may have faced (and I know you wrote your note here before seeing mine, as I just sent it), but I will recommend you give it another try. I've seen many successful migrations from CF to BD. Heck, moving code from CF5 to CFMX (or CFMX 6 to CFMX 7) had its challenges. A new platform is a new platform. But as BD has evolved (from 3 to 6.1 to 6.2 to 6.2.1) it has resolved many of the things that may have tripped one up.
Give it a shot. It's free for development use. And you can certainly run it on a box also running CF. I run CF5, 6.1, 7, and BD (both Java and .NET versions) all at once on my laptop. It's a great way to test code and even to solve problems, as sometimes one is better than the other at identifying a cause of my own mistakes. (It also definitely helps prove when the mistake is between my ears, rather than due to either engine.) /charlie -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of <cfgroupie> Sent: Monday, July 03, 2006 11:24 PM To: cfaussie Subject: [cfaussie] Re: OT: - .NET sucking the life out of me ahhahahaha.... Yes good idea...they won't even know the difference. As for blue dragon....I've had to many issues with it. Perhaps the new version will be a little better. I spent 6 years learning CF now I have to go relearn all again...damnit I wish we had the matrix plugin thingo...would make life so much easier learn it all in 2 mins. My luck I would have a blue screen of death and end up in a coma.
