Dale and others, This is one of the many things that annoys me about CF, in one aspect we can dynamically change the package, but then in other cases we can't. It is one of those annoying little things that CF has built into it.
However now that it is public the new version of Coldfusion (scorpio) now has per application mappings, but I believe that is still not enough. I have put a wish into adobe for a package system (not the best way of describing it), but the annoying thing is we leverage of java, yet we can't behave like java. And with that I would love the ability to say here is my class path, and all components underneath that becomes and behaves like java packages.
