I cringe at this remark! Throwing fresh graduates at a project unsupervised is like letting oh I don't know... letting a hypercaffeinated bull loose in a china factory.
It doesn't matter if it's CF or .net. I've done some bad things in my day... and I've seen others do bad things as well... You don't want to be the guy fixing the code that was copied from tutorials on w3schools. If you've not had to fix code written by 'the new guy', you're lucky. I'm not saying that you shouldn't hire fresh graduates. Getting a job fresh out of uni was a shitty experience to say the least... give them a fair go by all means but don't let them run amock on their own. schlub wrote: > All the fresh graduates already know the language already so > they can start tomorrow!" > or "We can build amazing web application and we need a server with > IIS, and ColdFusion Server which will set you back a thousand or so, > plus the client tools will cost a couple of hundred (if you dont want > to use Eclipse)... oh and we'll need to train all the fresh graduates > in CF as they only know ASP.NET and PHP." > > *snip* > > Cheers, > schlub > > > > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "cfaussie" group.
